The Chequers is licensed for civil ceremonies and offers 2 options:

The Drawing Room – suitable for up to 24 guests; the Drawing Room is an intimate room with an original parquet floor and offers the option of the adjoining Snug for drinks and canapés after your ceremony.  It is then transformed into the venue for your wedding breakfast with the option of long or round tables depending on your number of guests.

The Restaurant – suitable for up to 120 guests; the restaurant is a large, bright and airy room with a solid oak floor, pale grey decoration and floor to ceiling bi-fold doors into the garden. Reception drinks and canapés can either by taken in the garden (weather permitting) or the main Bar with additional rooms made available for larger parties.

To book your civil ceremony you should book the date with our wedding co-ordinators at the Chequers Inn.   This can be held for up to 14 days without obligation.  This will allow you ample time to contact the registry office in Lincoln to check their availability.

There will be an additional charge for the use of both the Restaurant and Drawing Room for your ceremony of £325.  This fee includes use of the ceremony room, flowers for the registrar’s table and a bedroom for your use to get ready in up to the time of the ceremony.

Additional enhancements are available, i.e. chair covers & sashes and a red carpet at additional cost.  Please ask us for details. Please note that charges made by the registrar are in addition to the ceremony cost.
